Up Next: Testing At New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Then A Little Road Trip
It'll be a busy week for some Camping World East Series teams starting bright and early Monday morning. New Hampshire Motor Speedway hosts a test date for that series as well as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at the Magic Mile, allowing those who choose to partake an opportunity to familiarize - or re-familiarize - themselves with the only track that hosts two East Series dates this year. Later in the week, the haulers head west to Iowa Speedway for the second annual East vs. West race. EastSeries.com will be at both tracks to bring back words and pictures.
Sellers Loses Greenville Win Due To Rules Infraction; Dillon Named Winner
Harrisburg, NC – NASCAR announced today that the #44 Chevrolet driven by Peyton Sellers would earn 30th place points and forfeit it’s season-opening win in the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 at Greenville Pickens Speedway due to a rules infraction. Per NASCAR, this decision can not be appealed.
Peyton Sellers Victorious In First Drive For Andy Santerre Motorsports
GREENVILLE, SC – Peyton Sellers rebounded from a brush with the wall and hasty repairs on pit road to win his first career NASCAR Camping World Series East event Saturday night at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, S.C. The 24-year-old from Danville, Va., won the An American Revolution 150 presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet in dramatic fashion over 17-year-old rookie, Austin Dillon. Sellers took the lead from Dillon, his Andy Santerre Motorsports teammate on lap 128, and then held off the Richard Childress Racing developmental driver to win the season opening event. Dillon is Childress’ grandson.
Notes From The Second Annual Speedway Expo
The Speedway Expo, put on by Speedway Illustrated and sponsored by Sunoco, moved to a new venue and we went with some trepidation as we recalled the last time its predecessor, Racearama, tried a change of building and those recollections were not fond. And while the Mallory building on the grounds of the Big E Exposition seemed to be fairly well-suited for the show, it did come across as a bit more cramped than the Better Living Center. Photography was a challenge.
