Ken Schrader Racing to Field Two Cars for the 2008 Camping World East Series

Concord, NC – March 4, 2008 – Ken Schrader Racing (KSR) is gearing up for the 2008 Camping World East Series by expanding their operation to a two car team. This season both Jamie Hayes and Ricky Carmichael will drive Ken Schrader Racing entries at every stop on the circuit.

Jamie Hayes will be returning to Ken Schrader Racing after an 8th Place finish in the final 2007 Point Standings. Jamie drove the #52 Chevrolet Monte Carlo to 1 Top Five Finish and 5 Top Ten Finishes in 2007. “I’m looking forward to getting back in seat and trying to build on our 2007 season,” said Hayes. “Now that I have been to all of the tracks and have the experience of racing there I am excited about the possibilities for 2008. My crew chief Donnie Richeson and I have developed good chemistry between us and that should lead to more success.” Jamie also credits two other key people in his development, “When you have the opportunity to race for an owner like Ken Schrader, I understand that his experiences behind the wheel will make me a better driver. Then, you mix into the equation someone the caliber of Rick Hendrick and the support he provides, I feel like I’m in the best position I can be.”

Along with Hayes, Ken Schrader Racing also welcomes Ricky Carmichael into the fold this season. Coming over from a spectacular AMA Motocross career where he won 10 consecutive AMA National Championships, Carmichael is ready for a new challenge. “I am really happy to be at Ken Schrader Racing,” said Carmichael. “Everyone here is excited and getting the chance to really focus on learning these cars makes me look forward to getting the season started.” Carmichael will be carrying the Monster Energy Drink colors on his Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the full season with support from Fox Racing, Oakley and Suzuki. “I have been fortunate to have great sponsors during my career and they continue to help make my next step in motorsports successful,” stated Carmichael.

With the additional car, Ken Schrader Racing is in full swing. Things are rapidly moving toward the season opener April 19th at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. “I am as excited as our drivers and crews are about the 2008 Camping World East Series,” said Schrader. “We have great people at Schrader Racing and I look for us to be very competitive this season.”
